Erman Çete focuses on capital markets law, including crowdfunding, blockchain, cryptocurrency and ICOs, corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, payment services and electronic money and venture capital.
Erman started to work in the Corporate Finance Department of the Capital Markets Board of Turkey (CMB) and served as the Deputy Head of the Department between 2019-2021. He served as the Head of the Intermediary Activities Department since 2021.
He has worked on numerous IPOs, debt instrument issuances, asset-backed securities and covered bonds, lease certificates and other capital markets instruments. He was responsible for processing mandatory tender offers, mergers and acquisitions of various listed companies.
He has been actively involved in the drafting of the Capital Markets Law, including amendments to bondholder’s committee, funds, project finance bonds, crowd funding and regulatory sanctions. During his tenure with the Capital Markets Board, Erman led cross-practice working groups that focused on the harmonization of the capital markets legislation with the EU regulations.
He recently led the working group which produced the crowdfunding regulation. As Head of Department, he also actively led the team working on crypto-currencies and crypto-exchanges regulation.
